A Bit of recent History of the Dumbing of US

History With RCS: An Imporntant American Thinker

We have much to learn about self-governance. As we learn we can practice active citizenship.

He was born in Ireland in 1758 and died in Washington, DC in 1831.

He did important architectural work in the Mid Atlantic and Southern states.

He was the designer and architect of the White House at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Free, Democratic, and Inclusive

History With RCS: Cossack, Ukrainian, and Free

Cossacks have been free men and democratic. They have only been known to history since about 650 AD. They have been active in self-governing communities for well over a thousand years. They have been open, inclusive, with a Slavic bent. They knew a world from Siberia to Lithuania and up and down for many years, but were drawn to a certain land.

The Ukrainian Cossack State was formed in about 1650 in what is now central Ukraine. Their leaders were elected.

Through the years they have been few. Democracy is not easy. They experienced much, and stayed free among strong neighbors such as Poland, Russia, and Lithuania. Among such neighbors they continued to show a strong will for self-governance.

They formed the Ukrainian Peoples Republic in 1917 to 1921, the western Ukrainian Peoples Republic 1918 to 1919, and the Ukrainian Peoples Republic in exile  from 1920 to 1992.

They were among the very first members of the Soviet Union with its promise of self-governing citizens. They may have been the first to leave that Union when it showed little will to self-governing citizenship.

They were among the charter members of the United Nations with its promise of a chance for peace and freedom. They have not given up on their fellow members yet.

Ah, yes, I believe that at the breakup of the Soviet Union the were left with one of the greatest stock of atomic weapons on Earth and gave up that stock to the U.N.

They have been few and still are. They are still a mixture of races, nationalities, and religions. They are a free democratic people self selected from that mixture.

We might mention that while all this was going on they, with the help of a few viking Norsemen, created Russia. Oh, and they had a modern republic type written constitution in 1710.

I believe that a history of the cultures most effecting these people could be traced back another 4,000 years. However, before about 650 AD they were little recognized in history as a discrete people. Throughout perhaps a thousand years of their history they stayed freer, more democratic, and inclusive than most. They have had to defend themselves and they have. They have also kept the hope and faith that they could live a free people among free people. They have  seen inclusiveness, freedom, and democracy disappear like smoke again and again. Still they hold a vision of that freedom and self governance closer and dearer than do most.

Neanderthal Recalled

Mago Bill, archaeology: We have a lot more than Neanderthals now, but let's remember the neanderthal we know.

Neanderthals lived in Europe perhaps 400,000 years ago and may have been in that region more than twice that many years ago.

Neanderthals may have lived in Spain(Cidron) as recently as 49,000 years ago. They may have practiced cannibalism there as recently as 60,000 years ago.

Mysterian Neanderthals may have lived as recently as 28,000 thousand years ago.

It seems that many Neanderthals may have had red hair.

It seems that through important periods of time Neanderthals may have been fewer than "us." Nearly all of us are probably partly Neanderthal.

Dramatic climate changes and severe weather impacted us and Neanderthals. 49,000 years ago Neanderthals were a dying race.

I'll write more abundantly about our old friends, our old cousins when ever you wish. Let me know in "comments" below. However, by searching the 60 posts on this blog you may find all you care to know waiting for you right here. By checking the info already here you may find more specific questions to ask me. Also you may be able to correct errors I have made or add new information yourself.

It's Not Made of Silk

History With RCS: We might call these sentences Silk Road 101 as though they were an introduction to a semester on the topic.

I think that on another blog I may have called it the Iranian Horsemen Road. Anyway,I believe that by 2000 BC there was already enough silk on the great trading network , we have called the Silk Road, to fairly call it a silk road.

By the time Europeans knew that they were trading with China and India, the Road ran from beyond Java to Italy and included more than trade just with India and China..

I believe that India early traded fine textiles on the Road.

From about 500 BC to about 200 BC Persian(Iranian) horsemen and their wheeled vehicles kept trade moving along the Road from the far east to the near east.

The Chinese, especially those of the Han Empire, did a good job of keeping trade moving on the Road from 206 BC to about 220 AD when the Ottomans closed it. During those 400 or so years the Han's traded a lot of silk.

Does anyone want to know what was  going on along the route before 500 BC to about about 2000 BC?

The Chinese now have a new fast railroad link along the Road. What else is going on their? Is it true that the Iranians controlled the road the longest.

Why Frie?

History With RCS: In 1964  American citizens paid their CIA to interfere in the internal affairs of Chile. Why?

In 1964 Eduardo Frei ran as a Christian Democrat and won the presidency of Chile. Powerful people in the U.S. did not like that. Why?

President Frei was supported by Chilean urban capitalists and industrialists? Earlier Chilean presidents had represented the rural, large landowning oligarchy. The CIA of the united States of America worked to sabotage Frie's presidency. Why?

His opponent in this 1964 election as Salvador Allende Gossens. Allende was a socialist and did not deny Communist leanings. His political methods however were a lot like those of Mussolini. Why did the CIA and powerful U.S. interests think he was a better man for the Presidency of Chile? Why did so many U.S. citizens agree to meddle in the internal affair of a neighboring republic? Why?

The results of the meddling of these powerful persons and our CIA is that Allende took over the government of Chile during the Cold War as the first Communist president in the Americas. Why?

Did the citizens of the United States think that less than 1% of them better knew what was good for them than did they themselves? I cannot believe that it was because of U.S. citizen's deep hatred for the people of Chile. Why was this criminal meddling? Why?

Do the people really want oligarchic rule? Do they want to be ruled by a tiny few?  Do they want that tiny few to spend their treasure, to monopolize their resources, and to meddle in the internal affairs of neighboring peoples without consulting them? Why?

Why have American citizens refused to be consulted about their foreign affairs and the wide-spread killing in their name? Why in 1964? Why in 1974? Why in '84? Why 94? Why in 2004? Why in 2014 Why?

           Why did they so?

            Will they ever learn?

The King Arthur Conspiracy

History With RCS: You could make an interesting exploration from here.

Why not begin with King Arthur?

We have a lot to. We really have a lot to learn.  There are also some very good stories that you can track down from here. There are other videos in which the speech track of this researchers voice is more easily understood; and videos by others.

We can begin to get a wider view of our world right here.
Please place your a summary of your report about Arthur in the comments section below. Try to use dates.

See if you can find good answers to the following questions:

1. Why say there is a conspiracy about the history of Arthur?

2. Why do some historians feel certain he was real?

3. Why do some believe their were two real Arthurs?

4. What is the origin of the Welsh?

5. What is the origin of the British?

            Have fun.

Cocolate Beer!

History With RCS: 1100 BC Chocolate Beer

Yes, by 1,100 BC inhabitants of what is now Puerto Escondido, Honduras drank a fermented version of cacao. This may be the earliest documented account of chocolate consumption.

I think that I got this tidbit from a piece by Rosemary Joyce,
